The Van Plan
As a wildlife photographer, I am always thinking of how to get to more remote locations. Locations where the herd of other photographers thins out and the only shutter I hear is my own. If I have accomplished this task, then I know I will have a unique image. This is where the van comes into play. I need something robust. I need something 4 wheel drive, something heavy duty. A place where I can eat, sleep, edit, upload, charge and repeat. Something that can keep me out in the wild and on the move longer than just an extended weekend. I am thinking beyond the available vacation days I have left and into something where I am the vacation. What started as a junkyard find is taking shape into something I want to put some miles behind spread out over several years of my life if not longer. Stage 1 of the journey is Alaska to Argentina. Polar bears to Pumas. Driving the Pan American highway from Prudhoe bay to Patagonia. Planning and building is where I am at now. This van is what’s going to make my mark as becoming a world renowned wildlife photographer. A bucket list adventure in a nutshell. Drive the World and photograph the Wild.
